Opening note
After researching leading property markets in Africa, Tahnwi became particularly interested in Nigeria. Lagos offered exposure to larger developments, a competitive property market, more sophisticated transactions and a broader network of professionals.
He chose to relocate in search of deeper knowledge and greater professional exposure.
A continuation, not a beginning
Lagos was not where Tahnwi’s real-estate journey began. Before the move, he had spent approximately four years marketing and selling property in Cameroon and had already participated in smaller developments and joint ventures.
The relocation carried that experience into a market where he could encounter projects, transactions and professional networks at a different scale.
Experience clarified what remained to learn
Practical success had given Tahnwi confidence, but it had also made the limits of his knowledge clearer. He did not want his future to depend entirely on trial and error or online study.
The aim was to deepen his understanding of how developments are evaluated, structured, financed and delivered, and how larger real-estate institutions are built.
Lagos was not where my real estate journey began. It was the next stage of a journey I had already spent approximately four years building.
The objective behind the move
Tahnwi’s stated objective was to grow from someone able to sell property and participate in smaller developments into a professional capable of structuring, financing and delivering significant real-estate projects.
That made the move a long-term learning decision rather than another short-term commercial opportunity.
Closing perspective
The Lagos chapter represents a willingness to place ambition beside deeper learning. Tahnwi arrived with practical experience, a clear view of his knowledge gaps and a larger standard for the work ahead.
